Why people make this tea
While buying soup ingredients at a Chinese herbal shop, Nourilo spotted jars of flowers for tea — rose, chrysanthemum, jasmine, silk-tree flower and others — and bought a little of each. Many flower teas are traditionally enjoyed for their calming qualities and their association with a brighter mood.
Nourilo later came across a jasmine-based tea online said to help dispel the body’s “turbid qi”, meaning unpleasant body odour, particularly bad breath. Bad breath is not necessarily only a matter of oral hygiene or dental problems; strongly flavoured foods, smoking, internal “heat” or other health conditions may also play a part. This fragrant “Turbidity-Clearing Tea” is one traditional food-therapy option to try. If repeated cups do not bring the expected result, or the mouth frequently has an unpleasant putrid odour, Nourilo advises paying attention to the possibility of another health problem rather than ignoring it.
