Our story
Wholesome food, time-honoured wisdom
Nourilo is a growing library of 2,339 nourishing recipes — soups, herbal teas, congees and everyday dishes — each one rooted in generations of home-kitchen food wisdom and rewritten for the way we cook today.
What we believe
Food is one of life's simplest pleasures and a cornerstone of feeling well. For centuries, families across Asia have built meals around ingredients chosen for both flavour and nourishment — a slow-simmered soup after a long week, a gentle tea to wind down, a warming congee when you need comfort. Nourilo gathers that wisdom, translates it faithfully, and shares it with curious cooks everywhere.
How to read our recipes
Every recipe explains not just how to make a dish, but why these ingredients have traditionally been brought together. We use careful, honest language: foods are traditionally enjoyed or commonly associated with a wellness goal. Nourilo does not diagnose, treat or cure anything — we share food, not medicine.
Our sources
Recipes are adapted and translated from a large body of traditional Cantonese home-cooking and food-therapy writing, then carefully reorganised, clarified and quality-checked for an English-speaking audience.
